Mercer Island Carpet Cleaning Service Area
About Mercer Island, WA
Named for two brothers who frequently traveled to and from the island to fish, hunt and gather berries, Mercer Island remained unconnected to the mainland until the East Channel Bridge was constructed in the 1920s. Shortly afterward, the Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge was constructed to connect the island to Seattle. Before the advent of these bridges, the island remained largely unsettled with the exception of a few intrepid residents who didn’t mind the need for steamboat travel in order to reach Seattle to the west or the Bellevue area to the east. Until the early 20th century, the Calkin Hotel remained a major tourist draw for travelers seeking a little respite from Seattle and the surrounding area.
After the opening of the bridges, Mercer Island growth began in earnest, and today, more than 20,000 permanent residents call the island home. The island is home to plenty of parks and beaches providing year-round recreational opportunities for residents and tourists alike.
You may not have the Mercer brothers tracking their berry stains through your home or business, but we’re betting you could still use a top-rated carpet cleaner to help freshen your fabrics, rugs, carpets and floors. Give Power Pup a call today at 206-931-8758 and learn how we can make those stains and odors a thing of the past.
