About Auburn, Washington
Think about it: Would you stay overnight in a hotel called “Slaughter House”? Probably not, but that was the name of the primary lodging in Auburn during its early days when the city was known as Slaughter (in honor of a deceased Army lieutenant who died in a local battle). The name was (perhaps fortunately) changed to Auburn at the end of the 19th century, when a large group of settlers from New York State decided to name the area after the town they’d left behind.
Near the junction of the Green and White Rivers, the region was home to several groups of Native Americans, and like many other towns and cities in the Puget Sound area, when European settlers arrived, they took advantage of the temperate climate and fertile plains to establish thriving agricultural communities. By the middle of the 20th century, larger businesses like Boeing and other manufacturing and industrial companies had moved in, and today, revitalization of the downtown district and refurbishing of several historic landmarks like the 19th-century Neely mansion has made Auburn a very desirable place to live. The city also contains a portion of the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation, home to descendants of the area’s original inhabitants. Power Pup Clean is proud to serve the residents and businesses of Auburn, WA – give us a call today for all of your cleaning needs.
